This is a nice short stop on the lava road. You can't see much of the original happening, but you can have a look and read about what happened inside the little church.

A miracle church, and if you drive along the lava road, it is not to be missed right by N2. You can read the newspaper clip on their bulletin board

This is a nice stop to take along the lava route - the church is very interesting to visit. Within close walking distance is a cute cafe and pharmacy.

A small insignificant pinkish chapel surrounded by lava. Some newspaper information inside. That's it folks, don't expect more!

This church was nearly engulfed by lava but it miraculously stopped. You now have to step down into the church. Before the flow you stepped up. Amazing mix of nature and religion. Absolutely loved it. The lava has been left around the church where the...More

Interesting church with a taste of history, worth a stop. You can read about the eruption that almost destroyed the place. Nice mural and modern stained glass windows

So the story is, when molten lava was making it way down the slop, it destroyed everything in its path until it got to the church. It entered the church doors where it stopped without burning/damaging the building. Taken as a sign from God, the...More
