Located on the main Eleftherias square, this municipal market’s offerings, prices are the best in Kos. We always buy unique jams, liquors, olives and olive oils, balsamic vinegars and candies each year we visit. Highly recommended!

Lovely little market selling food, fresh fruit, souvenirs and fragrances. Plenty of reasonably priced Greek gifts to take home, including Baklava, honey, herbs, spices and toiletries.

Well worth the visit, a wide array of foods and spices and some different ideas for gifts and trinkets, friendly staff and a convenient location.

This impressive Italian building dominates one side of Eleftherias Square (Freedom Square) in Kos town.

It is the home to Kos Municipal Market (Μercato delle Erbe). It's construction was completed in 1934.

A ideal place to shop for local products, honey, olive oil ,fruit & vegetables as well as herbs and spices. Local wines and ouzo can be found here.

It is also the place to purchase the famous Krasotiri, goats cheese aged in red wine.

There are a plethora of places to buy holiday souvenirs and gifts and so much more. It might be easier to list what is not on sale here rather than what is.

The interior is just as impressive as the outside, the main feature being the large atrium.

It really is a hive of industry with the hussle and bustle of a busy market. Hassle free shopping all in one place in a wonderful building.

It opens every day at 07.00am,  except  Sunday, which is 10.00 am and during the summer it is open until 22.30.

Useful little market where you can buy small culinary gifts.

Aimed for the tourists, and not a place that the locals would shop at.

Worth a quick visit, but don't hold your breath!

it's the perfect place to buy souvenirs, especially things like olive oil, olives or sweets. They also stock Greek wine. It's all very convienient and the prices are not inflated as compared to other places selling the same products elsewhere.
It is also well organized, that you put everything together and pay at the till at the exit. Makes for a very smooth and unproblematic experience.

Great choice of traditional goods, from food to sponges and olive wood items. Reasonable prices. Open late most evenings.
