Despite the massive increase in tourism since we were last here 35 years ago, Kos is still a pleasant place to visit.

It's in the middle of kos town opposite the marina you cannot miss it. Don't know if you can go in there but looks quite nice from the outside

The castle is prominent from within Kos Town and provides a lovely panorama to the harbour. Towards the sea edge, there are ferry terminals to Bodrum. Nice way to spend a short time walking around.

Unfortunately due to damage from the earthquake in 2017 Kos castle is shut to visitors. The harbour area is still showing damage over a year on. Be careful, especially at night!

September 2018: the castle is still closed. The bridge is available to walk and to come closer to the castle, to see the decorative elements and enjoy a view of the harbor. Save some historical information about it on your phone, and come to see...More

The castle is still shut due to damage from the 2017 earthquake. The whole harbour area still has sinkholes and broken paving from the event. Very sad it's not been repaired by now.

Kos council has cleared debris in Kos town where major damage occurred an has barriers sound anything deemed to be a risk. Feels perfectly safe as they have shut off any attraction they believe needs restoration.

The castle is still closed and we were told yesterday it could be some time before it will be open again. Also it is not possible at present due to damage of the quay around the castle to walk around the complete outer wall. More
