It is a wide spacious square with lovely cafes to sit and relax. We visited this area a couple of times during our stay. Also did a litlle shopping at the market. Surrounded by interesting buildings.

Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon the shops are closed. As well as on Sundays the whole day. The tourist shops during summer season are open the whole day everyday but the rest not.

I agree with the precious two. If you are checking you luggage might be worth buying a couple of jars of the delicious honey. Or just a small jar if you are travelling with only cabin bags.

It's only about 100 metres at right angles from the old port.Ask for the Agora/old market place and enjoy a slow coffee/drink there while you watch the world go by !
