Try the goats milk fresh icecream on the corner of the square. Wonderful location with eash access to the whole of Kos town. My daughter didn’t want to leave as she could run everywhere. Beautiful square in Kos

A lovely vibrant town square. Lots of cafes and shops which are all reasonably priced. We spent a day in Kos town and having a cold beer in the square was just lovely

This was a nice main square but the building in the centre was all covered over with scaffolding and work was going to take place so we didn’t see much of that but it did look a nice place to stroll maybe stop for a coffee etc etc

Has an indoor market inside. So majority of gifts in one place a bit cheaper. We had lunch just outside, cheap n cheerful. Waiters very friendly.
Nice flower displays for picture taking at the wall.
Can walk up to old town from off the square., Very narrow and windy though. But pretty. Lots of small shops.
We loved Kos and the different areas. Very pretty town.

A lovely square in Kos town, lined with traditional bars and restaurants. There are further beautiful tree covered restaurants just off the square towards Hippocrates tree with proper tablecloths and traditional features.
We stopped for a drink at Kous-Kous as, so it seems, most tourists did. The place was very busy but the service was excellent. Lovely tonic water which was refreshing in the heat. Just off the square there are winding roads taking you into the old town of Kos. Unfortunately, it was a Tuesday when we visited and the museums off the square as well as the main castle in the town were closed. Avoid going on Tuesdays. Lovely independent little shops and extremely clean all around. Accessible as well across the town.

We had two days exploring this historic coastal town, and this was definitely one of the highlights.

It is clean, well kept and very beautiful indeed. We used to have a cold beer in the shade and watch the goings-on around it and it was never dull.

We didn’t eat there as the restaurants are what we would consider tourist traps, so we used to try and get off the beaten track a bit.

That said, the restaurants do add to the squares atmosphere and there’s lots of nice little shops around the area as well.

A very picturesque square in the heart of Kos Town. There are many streets, shops, bars and restaurants that lead off from the square, you can happily spend a couple of hours wandering around and taking in all of the sights.

So many gems are packed into this relatively small space. Defterdar Mosque (minaret gone since earthquake) and the various Italian (not Roman) buildings, i.e. the Market Hall (still in use) and the Archaeological Museum surround this beautiful square.
