This trail contours around alto coloane the highest point of macau at 172 meters. Trails head to the sumit from this main trail also a road takes you to the temple and statue at the top of the hill. For those wanting to visit the temple or high poibt without walking there is a free shuttle mibibus from next to the panda pavillion. Its very quiet compared to the rest of macau and has a much wilder and relaxed feel

The Coloane Walking Trail takes you up a hill and near the coast and is about 8 kms path. The path goes up and down the hill, and you can take diversions to the beach or the village of Coloane, maybe tray a Lord Stow's tart. Some places are steep so bring walking shoes, and it is not suitable for sandals if it is raining. We took a diversion and enjoyed the area by the sea facing China at Coloane village. You can also visit Hac Sa Bay which is a popular place for beach - goers during the summer. In November there were few visitors and even fewer restaurants open. One advantage of hiking the trail is that you will see very few people.
