We read previous review of Baranco de Mogan and having done a mountain hike on Sunday when everything was closed on our return, we decided to walk back up via the bakery "Pan de Matos". We weren't disappointed, speaking in very poor Spanish I ordered...More

We weren’t too adventurous and only drove the ten minutes to Mogan from the port but the scenery is pretty. There’s a nice fruit market with fresh juices that all the cyclists were stopped at. An interesting way for barranco views is that the GC-500...More

Gran Canaria is a bit of a no-go zone if one wants to explore. Riverrover's review (13 December 2016) mentions the walk up to the garden centre. It looked promising until the barrier he mentioned where it meets the GC 500 - lovely paving all...More

Returning to this pleasant resort we repeated the above walk, noting that some 'improvements' had been made with more tarmac en route to the garden centre. However, to our sorrow, El Jardin wasn't open - we were too early! So if this happens to you...More

Take the car or you can hike up from the village as far as you want to go. Take water and a map to explore fully. We drove all the way up to the Lake - Presa de las Ninas. Hairy roads, take it slowly,...More

Ideal for an early morning walk before the sun gets too hot. Good exercise and great views. While I was there part of the road had collapsed into the sea and a large number of rocks had fallen onto the road from above. So certainly...More

I'm not sure what is included in "Barranco de Mogan" - I would include the whole valley. I recommend driving up GC200 to the viewpoint where it crosses over into the Veneguera valley (near the Cruz de Mogan cross). Even more spectacular (but not for...More

Another place in Gran Canaria that offers stunning views and beautiful landscapes. The way up is not that long but definitely worth the visit: huge cliffs, little villages and historic windmills will entertain you all the way along.

A lovely fresh morning walk while on holiday - shake off the night before and start a great day. One can walk up to the garden centre and nursery.

This would be a beatiful area to walk in, but it is in danger of being over-developed, and parts of it are like building sites.
