Looked gorgeous in the Autumn and so peaceful. We walked around it by Castle Ward whilst doing the Game of Thrones Tour (highly recommended) for beautiful views and filming locations along the way. Locals were so friendly. Simply stunning!
There are lots of interesting things to see if you're touring around Strangford Lough .
Strangford Yacht Club is beautifully situated with Mahee Castle close by .
Especially pleasant on a sunny Autumn afternoon .
This is a short crossing (about 5 minutes on a good day). On a good day some great views. The kids will love it. You can go by foot or car. Ferry takes about 20/25 cars and there is an indoor and outdoor foot passenger...More

All it is is a flooded valley, but it is a beautiful one with strong tides, pladdies to catch the inexperienced boatman. The rolling hills of the south end contribute to the character of the place. For those who want to go to Portaferry, there...More

Easy. Stay on main roads throughout and your journey should take about an hour without rushing. Come up the lough towards Newtownards, then take the main road towards Bangor. At the ring road take the A2 dual carriageway towards Belfast and continue along the Sydenham bypass to the M3 bridge over the Lagan. This will lead you onto the M2/M5 motorway. Take the M5 towards Carrickfergus.
