Visiting Ouranoupolis for the day from our nearby holiday resort and decided to visit the Tower which we thought looked very old and interesting from outside. Went in and paid entrance fee and then from that moment on were closely followed by female member of...More

Only 2 euros entrance fee to go in here which was exceptional value. Only small but very interesting history with lots to see in the exhibition and to read about. Well worth a visit.

The Byzantine Tower of Ouranoupolis is a nice sight in the beautiful town of Ouanoupolis. We spent a couple of hours in Ouranoupolis as a stop during our cruise to Mount Athos.

We have visited the Tower in a Rainy day- I would say that the most interesting thing was the story of the writers family who lived there and did a lot for the Village and local people.

As far as I can tell, the tower isn't open for the public. You can only see the exterior.
