About
Dragon Rock Reptile Centre is situated in the heart of the beautiful Drakensberg in Kwazulu Natal. We are a nature and reptile centre. We believe education is the most powerful weapon with which we can change the world around us. That is why we strive to educate people about the animals we have and animals in general. Combining the nature centre with our reptile centre we aim to send people home more aware of their environment.

The animals belong in a better well kept place. Not in this manner and there hindu god status around the place. It doesnt make sense what this place is.

Very knowledgable guide Corniel. Highlights included the handling of the 3m python, the massive bird eater spider and the geckos, hedgehog, etc. By appointment only.

Awesome experience with a truly knowledgeable guide. It's both entertaining and educational. We loved getting up close and personal with the animals and being a part of the experience in such a beautiful place. Highly recommended.

I have been to a few reptile parks, but this one was honestly the best. The animals say it all. You can see that they are well taken care of and definitely loved. Cornel, is very passionate and knowledgeable about all the animals. I really enjoyed the experience and so did my kiddies.

Awesome as always ...

This was our 3rd visit to the Reptile Centre and it was as awesome as before. Much to the delight of our 8 year son, he was again able to hold the snakes, spiders, a ferret, watch the alligators being fed and finally sit with the Burmese (?) Python - the big one!. The owner showed us around and he is knowledgable, passionate about his animals and enjoys sharing all of this with you. Highly recommended. Limited opening times and prior booking is essential. Group size is limited so book in advance. No children under 5 years.

Close up encounters with snakes and spiders

One of the best collections of snakes and spiders that I have ever seen. People get the chance to hold tarantulas and snakes. Owner has excellent knowledge on all species at the farm and you come away with new respect for these creatures.

Incredible hands on learning experience
Aug 2019
Visited in August as a group of 6, the guys were really friendly, informative, and let us handle lots of reptiles and animals during the tour - something you wouldn't get back home in the UK!

Really fun and inspiring day, wonderful to support rescue projects too!

Furry, scaly and slithering fun!

If you love animals as much as I do, this is certainly the place to be! Quaint, beautifully set up and nestled at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains is this animal sanctuary where the love and care for all creatures great and small is shared with us, the public. The staff and owner is very knowledgeable and take excellent care of these animals that have either been saved, given up or bred at the facility. You get to interact with these creatures while learning about the species.

Take note: the facility is not suitable for children younger than 5 years old and bookings are essential as the tours are intimate and moving space limited.

Crawling highlights in the Berg.

We visited early morning (10am tour).
The tour leader was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and showed a genuine love for the various reptiles and animals in the Centre.
The grandkids were allowed to touch and interact with the Tortoises, lizards, chameleons, selected snakes, 🕷, Ferrets and birds on display.
They could sense the passion from the tour leader and they totally enjoyed the whole experience! Great value with excellent knowledge transfer.

Hands on experience
Oct 2018
If you want a hands on experience, then this is it. Your guide is so knowledgeable on all his pets and shares so much information with you. I am not a keen person on snakes, but i managed to hold one or two. I even got to hold Cher the croc .
