Lucky for us some people did not show so we could join the workshop.
Antony was a great host and helped us make some beautiful knifes. Antony is the only English speaking host and is really pasionate about his job, knives and the city.

Had a great time there. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going. I was afraid at first that I’d screw up, but Anthony was extremely helpful and skilled, and my knife turned out great.

I had a great time at the workshop with my friends! We assembled a knife with the help of one of the staff, who was very kind and patient despite my apparent lack of proficiency in the French language, and my very obvious inexperience in...More

Nous sommes heureux que vous puissiez apporter un souvenir de Thiers dans vos valises, bravo !
Spent a fabulous 90 minutes with Anthony making my very own knife from pre formed/cut pieces. Anthony’s English was very good as was the instruction and demonstration of what I had to do. For €30 I have a unique engraved knife to add to my...More

Thank you very much for your answer, best regards.
This activity was great fun for our entire family. We speak very little French (...our failing!) and the staff went out of our way to be very accommodating to us. If you speak English then perhaps request Anthony specifically. We were divided into groups of...More

Merci pour votre témoignage; vous resterez vous aussi, dans nos mémoires !
Two of us assembled knives in the course of one hour. We were expertly guided by the friendly and knowledgeable tutors through the processes of riveting, sanding, and buffing “Le Thiers” knife. No prior expertise is required and the activity would be suitable for most...More

Thank you for your kind words. We are glad. You enjoyed your experience with our animator's company and seeing knives you made with us going all the way to the other end of the Earth.
This "assemble and make your own knife" was the best activity !
We went with a group of very different friends, and all loved it !
We had a warm welcome in the atelier where we learned all the steps of making a knife.

This is fantastic. An absolute must of you're remotely interested in knives. With guidance, you get to rivet, grind and polish your knife before oiling the handle. Really was a brilliant experience. I was lucky enough to have an English speaking tutor. Absolutely loved it.
The old centre of Thiers is known for its shops selling locally made knives of every description ( including Sabatier ). There is a brand, created in 1992 by a group of artisan knife makers called Le Thiers. It is possible to assemble & polish...More
