Having just moved to Retford this has to be our favourite place to go out into the country and walk with the dog - not to metion this year's bumper crop of black berries! You can walk a few hundred metres or 10k depending on...More

Not much of a conservation area; the wildlife in the reserve merely consists in a few common garden birds and some waterfowls observable in every city park with a pond - nothing bad with that, but you don't need to get into all the trouble...More

Good car park, easy access. With a variety of lengths of walks. Suiting all members of the family. The cafe is good with great cakes.

Me and my partner walk around idle valley quite often , it’s a lovely walk, and although we don’t have dogs we see a lot there and they seem to love it also. Highly recommend. We also visit the cafe, reasonable prices.

Went with family including toddler. A very good walk around the lake spotting loads of flora and fauna, with a very excited 22 month old in tow. Paths well sign posted and informative. Stopped to picnic outside the visitors centre, the staff were very helpful...More

The cafe makes a cracking cuppa and the homemade cakes are a delight. The little shop has some interesting bits and bobs and you can get your top grade binoculars there.

Such a pretty place to take your dog for a walk...even if I didn’t live close by it would definitely be a place I’d look into going too
