De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre Private Safari (Private)

he Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre is a magical place where conservation and education is their motto. It was established in 1971, like a cheetah conservation project and is a short 2-hour scenic drive through the Magaliesburg mountains. Highlights you can look forward to seeing, are the beautiful markings and patterns of the cheetah and wild dog up close. You may even be lucky to get a photo with one of the cheetah.

The center also serves as a platform to educate the public not only on cheetah and wild dog conservation but also on the treatment and respect of domestic animals. Through their NPO (the non-profit organization), CHEETA, people are taught to use domestic animals such as Anatolian dogs to protect livestock from predators and predators from harm.

The center’s outreach is far and wide and their passion for wildlife and conservation is immeasurable. A visit to this center will leave you feeling enriched and inspired.

This is a great place to relax with the family, enjoy the entertainment for the little ones, go bike riding or sit on your verandah and do nothing. The restaurant on the site offers okay-ish food and the service is great. Very quiet at night to have a great sleep in the chalets.

If you get a chance visit the rehab centre. we had a wonderful tour and got to touch baby animals and big ones that one day soon will be back in the wild thanks to their rehab programe. lovely young staff who informed us of the reasons each animal is there and how they will be rehabilitated to be released into the reserve. Each animal saved is a blessing. A lot of the birds there are one winged and will require care forever. Please go visit and support them with donations when you do as their work with animals is amazing. Got to hold a baby bush baby and a baby mongoose. What heaven to interact with these tiny creatures. got to touch a caracal wild cat and learn why farmers shoot them instead of trying to work with them. Lovely peaceful clean surroundings for the animals

it was a very good experience - there is mountain bike trails to ride - you can hire bikes there - there a lot of entertainment for the young ones - hot pool under cover - cold pool as well as a plaas dam pool. the food is very nice and the staff helpful and friendly. the accommodation is also very nice - chalets to guest house etc. a nice place to relax for a few days to forget about the stress. thanks.
