About Cheetah Experience
Cheetah Experience is a registered non-profit endangered species breeding centre in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Our Mission is to raise awareness of the vulnerability of South African species and other endangered species through educational experiences, as well as ethically breeding cheetahs in captivity. We are home to a number of endangered and threatened species, including cheetahs, leopards, male lions, servals, caracals, African wildcats, wolves, meerkats and a Siberian tiger. Our project takes in rescued animals from the local area, so we also have various animals from time to time, including a goat and antelope. We offer visitors a once in a lifetime opportunity to come on an educational tour and learn about our animals, see them up close, take some amazing photos, and learn how you can join us in the fight to protect these precious species. We offer a Volunteer and Internship Program, which has seen over 750 hard-working, dedicated people from 29 countries come and be a special part of the Cheetah Experience Global Volunteer Family, and contribute to conservation in South Africa.

This was my first experience as a volunteer working with animals. With the help of staff, I soon knew more about cheetahs and other cats than I thought possible. The staff is truely amazing. It is so obvious they love what they do and are dedicated to saving these animals. It is beyond conservation. It is about humans doing their part to save and release these magnificent animals into a protected wild where they can live as they were meant to. The volunteer opportunity unique and rewarding. Tour groups are lead by volunteers which allows the volunteer to share the knowledge they have gained with the general public. I would recommend a visit to the Cheetah Experience to anyone; student volunteers and volunteer vacationers for sure, but to anyone who happens to be in South Africa. A visit and a tour will change the way you view these animals. The Cheetah Experience is driven by education and love. Do your part and stop in for a visi!!!

Every year, I dedicate some of my time to volunteer in the wildlife and environmental conservation space and in 2019 I had the pleasure of being able to volunteer at Cheetah Experience, Bloemfontein. Initially I was excited to experience and learn more about cheetah’s and contribute even a small amount to the conservation efforts, but within the 2 weeks I was there, my experience became so much more. The information I was able to learn from all the staff and other volunteers was one of the best experiences of all my volunteer efforts. The animals are treated with respect and their wellbeing is the number one priority there. Everyday since leaving, I have just wanted to go back.

My son and I visited the Cheetah Experience this past January for a week. I am always a skeptic and its very hard for me to ever leave a place believing that the animals are 100% well cared for. I can always find a flaw. But CE has proven me wrong! They were fantastic. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the enclosures and the size of each one. They scoop poop, scrub the platforms, and thoroughly clean the water bowls every single day for every single enclosure! They convene daily as a group to discuss any issues or concerns that anyone has. It's a very open and respectful environment. As a result, all the animals are constantly looked over and every nuance of their existence is reviewed. I was truly impressed! These animals are extremely well cared for. And all the volunteers/workers are extremely dedicated to the health and well being of these animals. This is an extraordinary program! If anyone is looking to donate this is a great cause! Your money will be well spent!
