The place is astonishing and perfect - you just cannot name it otherwise :). Great lake between the mountains, you can chill on the beach, swim or sail on the lake and between that go wander in the mountains with some great and breathtaking views....More

We took bikes (not electric) and we had a riding of 3 hours around the lake. Many places to stop and do picnic, beautiful landscapes, perfect with kids.

This is a memorable cog rail uphill and downhill journey . On our trip we had a local accordionist for part of the journey. It terminates at Lake Achensee where you board a ferry for a two hour lake trip around the Tyrol's largest lake....More

This is a must if you are in part of Austria. It is the oldest (cog) railway in Austria. The ride is good excellent scenery. It is coal fired, but the smoke does not reach the two carriages.

A pristine lake fed by the glacier of the Rofan mountains. The Rofan seilbahn is within a hiking distance and is a good spot to stay and hike the alps and the famous eagle trail.

The train ride is not very long but but well worth the money it takes you all the way to the lake. It's a nice old fashioned real train and I loved it. We also had a day out on the lake hopping on and...More

There were families with small children, they were catered to very well at the restaurant however I don't believe they have any activity of the sort.
