We were taken to lookout with the owner of motel who helps out with local conservation , he was able to explain all about the viaduct and surrounding area .

Quick stop at the viewpoint, what an amazing structure it is. Can see how it improved transport through here when you see where the old road went. Some 'friendly' keas came to say hello and see what they could remove from the car.

We were here on a cold rainy day but the view is good and worth a look for the span of the bridge through the valley.

Well worth stopping and taking pictures. Such a fantastic view, Otira Viaduct is also fascinating to travel, so big.

They stop in the township which is a wee drive 10-15 minutes from memory from the viaduct
