Red, white, and black beaches are all worth seeing once, but come to Perivolos for a stay "at the beach." Try lunch at Sea Side.

It is long, with a promenade full of restaurants. I can imagine it can get pretty busy during the season. Sand is black, with some rocks and water shoes are useful, although not completely necessary. There are options for eating, drinking, beach volley or watersports....More

We stayed right across from the beach, and this is just a lovely beach. Not crowded at all! The sand is 'soft' and of black sand, but be careful with children, the waves are strong, and the sand sucks you in !

We were based opposite this beach and had sun beds provided by the hotel. We enjoyed several hours on this beach and in the sea snorkelling and swimming.

This sand is HOT! Definitely cannot walk barefoot on it. It is a very clean nice beach, good for laying out and taking a dip in the water. Plenty of places to eat or grab a drink here.

Loads of outlets with sun beds and service. Don’t be put off by the black sand - it’s sand. Some places are quite pricey but some will wave fees depending on what you spend on food and drink. Some luxury options - Sea View offer...More

You can find something within 15 to 30 gbp. Don't get too big a car, get a small economy one: roads are small, you'll never be able to go more than 70 kph. Buses work well if you're on a budget, but you won't be able to get... More

Rental cars are very inexpensive, grab one in Fira and it is 20 minute drive. Well worth the drive and you can come and go to the beach as you like. There is plenty of parking everywhere and parking is free.
