Beautiful evening on Silver Lake
Oct 2017 • Couples
The kayak tour was wonderful. Everyone was able to get into and out of their kayak without getting wet (a big plus when it is 50 degrees out!). We were able to see some blue herons and pieces of both Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. The water was very calm and peaceful. We enjoyed it. The wine tasting at Mt. St. Helens wine tasting room was excellent as well. Thanks to Dwaine and Theresa.

Kayaking
Sep 2017 • Solo
The sunset paddle adventure was very cool. On this trip you are able to see wildlife native to the area.Deer, Blue Heron, King Fisher, ducks and more..! Mt St Helens and the Green Mountain Range make a beautiful horizon to the East. To West a gorgeous sunset! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful in all situations. highly recommended for all levels of kayakers! The wine tasting was super fun and personal to your preference as to your liking. A must do adventure to complete your summer's activities!!!!

Beautiful Lake to Kayak, but more frustrating than it was worth...
Jul 2016 • Friends
My friend and I purchased the groupon to go on the sunset kayak experience. We got there early and noticed no one was there until about 10 minutes prior to sail off. The guide was nice, but no too interactive. We signed the disclaimer, fit ourselves for our own life jackets and then were asked to grab our paddle. As a group, we crossed the highway and made our way to the dock, where a choice of kayaks were waiting. I chose the larger kayak, as I had a backpack I wanted to store on the back of the kayak. However, it would've been helpful if the guide would've warned me that, as a beginner, that kayak was best for a more experienced person. It was a tremendous amount of work to maneuver the large kayak on my own, which made the entire experience far more stressful than pleasurable. Had I had the 'beginner size' kayak, I'm sure I would've had a much better time with my friend and the group as a whole. While this experience says it's for beginners, it is mixed with experienced kayakers, which can feel intimidating. The guide didn't teach the beginners how to kayak and troubleshoot, which landed me in the lily pads more times than I can count. Instead of walking me through it, the guide just stayed behind and waited for me to figure it out on my own. Which I did, eventually. The last leg of the adventure was in open water, sharing with houseboats, jet skiiers and other boaters. That made for rough waters, at times, and at that point, our guide went ahead of me and caught up with the rest of the group that was way ahead of me. I didn't mind being the last one to reach the dock. But, I did mind that our guide left me in open water to figure it all out on my own. That's not a guide and really, that was not the right option for him to take when he has a first time kayaker, wwanting to learn and obviously struggling to manage her kayak in wavy open water. While I enjoyed the lake and it's natural beauty, I would not take this tour again.

I'm sorry this was your experience. The guide you are referring to is no longer working with our company, and did not keep to the standards that we have had over the last four years. Situations like yours were the reason we let this guide go. So, thank you for your comments. Please, read the many positive reviews here, with Groupon, and on our Facebook page. I would suggest coming out another time, and see how things should be. Again, The Sasquatch Adventures Team is sorry for any inconvenience you may have suffered.

The lake is beautiful as well as the scenery....do the kayaking adventure!
Jul 2016 • Friends
We kayaked around the lake for 2 hours and had a great time. The weather was beautiful, the water was warm...two people fell in...We had done it before and it was better previously as the guide we had this time did nothing in the way of narration nor interacted with the participants. He just kayaked at the back of the group. He did not help when the people fell in. I had to pull 350 lbs inch by inch to the shore to get back in their kayaks. Others loved the live entertainment though so it was a win/win for the group. Also our guide neglected to call the winery to let them know we were coming so it was closed and we missed that part of the adventure. The lake was beautiful so it was a good trip.

After hearing about a few bad customer experiences, yours being one, we let this particular guide go. He was not meeting the high standards our company has had over the past four years. Since, you had been out with us before Im sure you noticed the difference. The Sasquatch Adventures Team is deeply saddened by your experience and apologize for any inconvenience you may have suffered.

Unreliable
Jun 2016 • Friends
I am really disappointed of this place. I called two hours before heading to the location and got information, the nice lady who answered said close at 5:30pm, no appointment needed. So I drove an hour away only to find out a sign saying "sorry we are closed." Even though the doors hours say open Thursday-Sunday till 5:30pm I was there at 2:30pm we waited 30min to see if maybe on lunch and called several times only to go to voicemail. If planning to go here make sure someone is going to be there waiting.

Hello, Those were our hours in June, and somebody should have been at the shop. Im not sure about the Jun 18th situation, but I did adjust staffing, so that we could continue to keep the same high standard of service that our customers have enjoyed for the past four years. The Sasquatch Adventures Team apologize for any inconvenience that you may have suffered.

Fall Suset Cruise and wine tasting
Oct 2015 • Friends
The weather was iffy and started raining during our orientation. But, from then on it was wonderful. The weather cooperated after all with a colorful sunset, calm evening and meeting great new friends. Bobbie was a great tour guide, being careful with the two gals who had never kayaked. We were able to investigate Silverlake at our own speed. Mt. Saint Helens winery was a pleasant surprise, with their hospitality and very good wines. Such a nice way to spend a Fall evening.

Beautiful kayaking on Silverlake!
Sep 2015 • Solo
My BFF and I have had kayaking on our bucket list for some time and were over the top delighted with our Sunset Tour at Sasquatch Adventures! Bobbie, our guide was patient, professional and so sweet! She gave us instructions and then allowed us to navigate the course she offered at our own pace. She circled back to each guest several times to connect, coach and visit. Great conversations and lots of laughs made for a great evening. Wine tasting at Mt. St. Helen's Sellers was exceptional as well! Gary & June were the perfect hosts and their wine is fantastic! All in all, it was an amazing evening! I highly recommend Sasquatch Adventures if you're interested in an great time kayaking and especially the Sunset Tour & wine tasting. Thanks a million! =)

First Time Kayaking
Aug 2015 • Couples
My boyfriend and I went on a sunset kayak tour of Silverlake - it was the first time going out kayaking for both of us. It vastly exceeded our expectations. We had a blast! We went on a Sunday evening, and the lake was calm and beautiful at that time of day. Our guide was very friendly and professional, but she didn't coddle us or make us feel like beginners at all - we were in a larger group (10 all together) - and we were allowed to pace ourselves out and get the hang of paddling without feeling like we were holding anyone back or going too fast. It was a great time, and we will definitely be going again!

We are truly sorry for any mistakes that are made here at Sasquatch Adventures. I take pride in providing an excellent tour for all my guests. Mistakes do happen and booking correctly can be confusing. Because of being a small business we use many outlets to advertise and bring in customers. We have email confirmation for all our guests and unfortunately I was unable to find any documentation of a request for booking from Ms. Rhainny, hence the reason I was unable to get a hold of her. If anyone ever feels they may miss out on a tour due to unorganized documentation please feel free to print out all correspondences made by email and bring them with you to verify your booking. Overbooking is an unavailable option on our system and we strive to provide the best services possible within our limits as a small business.
