A beautiful location, perfect for both sunset and sunrise. But your knees won't thank you. With over 2000 stairs it's hard to get up and double hard to go down. I didn't go higher to the Hut but it's still beautiful there and has some...More

It's a great walk to get your heart pumping. And the views as you go up the mountain are nothing less than Kiwi Spectacularity. During winter you may not be able to go up very far due to icy conditions so best to do this...More

We did it lunch time, after a cool, fabulous, early morning hike on Hooker valley. Both tracks have the same starting point and offer stunning views. But unlike the Hooker valley, Sealy Tarns track is literally, a vertical stairway with many switchbacks, hanging on one...More

Halfway to Mueller hut is the lookout point of Sealy Tarns, it indeed offers a jaw dropping view of the lakes below and the valleys behind. It's an easy walk actually with wooden steps all the way.

A strenuous 1,800 step ascent to a scenic overlook of Mt Cook, Tasman Lake, and the valley below.  Well worth the climb.  Very windy at the top; bring gloves and a rain jacket. Do not attempt in bad weather.

This was a slightly challenging feat for those of us that were not fit as we thought we were! Nonetheless we made it up to the top in good time albeit with a few breaks on the way up. And it was definitely worth it....More

The Sealy Tarns hike was difficult. Two-thousand steep stairs ascended all the way to the top which took us about an hour and a half of huffing and puffing. Our legs might have been shaking a bit, but the view was 100% worth it! Make...More

Managed this walk with only sore calves the next day and with a 9y.o and 10y.o. Lots of stairs but if you're not in too much of a rush then you will get up to the top and enjoy some well deserved views of the...More

This is a great alternative to the Hooker Valley Track for those who want a little bit more exercise than a casual stroll! The snow line did not permit us the go as far as Muller hut, but the steep staircase up to the viewpoint...More
