with magnificent views over the nearby villages and countryside, a walk up to the top of the hill is a must. afterwards call into the village of Child Okeford. An amazing pub and rare village shop.

We are local and love walking up Hambledon Hill. The views are beautiful and always nice to finish at The Cricketers for a drink. Our last visit was ruined by a lady’s dog chasing sheep. Very sad when people totally ignore all signs to keep...More

Even though it was quite overcast when we reached the summit, you can tell that on a clear day it would be a magnificent view. The walk is relatively easy, though can be quite sticky/slippery under foot when wet.

Parking is a challenge but once you loose the car the walk is spectacular. Be prepared for mud if its wet.

This is one of the best views in the area. No guided tours, just a walk. There is car parking at either end of the walk and the return path can be made slightly different to the outward.

Amazing views over the Dorset countryside. Hambledon Hill is an ancient hill fort, and is well worth the walk to the top! Child Okeford itself is a really lovely and pretty place for a wander.
