I went for Opera en Fête, and it was great. I was worried that by picking the open seating area, I'd have to sit on stone all night, but there were wooden bench tops that were slightly nicer than stone steps.

When we were visiting the arena, they were building the stage for a festival, hiding most of the original Roman remains. Without the stage, the arena must look impressive.

The day we arrived, the town was setting up for a rock concert in the amph so it was cluttered with sound stage equipment and grips. Bad luck. Love Roman ruins but saw nothing of this one. I imagined beauty under the modern equipment.

Small quaint village outside Bern. An easy drive and pleasant time. I would recommend the Hôtel-Restaurant de la Couronne for dinner or drinks.
