About

Very nice place and chapel between two nice beaches. The only negative is many people on the beaches.

The location is really special and I loved the beach that is next to it. You can easily go walking from Armação de Pêra.

Cute little church/chapel, with a spectacular setting on top of a steep cliffs, great views in all directions...the church itself is locked but you can peek in, it's a very simple interior anyways

This is a must place to visit at any time of the day. Whether its to see the sunrise, the sunset and just to pay a visit you will not be disappointed by the views. It's also an ideal place for that special wedding, a beautiful setting.

Picturesque with history!
Feb 2020 • Couples
Just west of Armacao da Pera, this tiny church is a very photographic stop. Perched on the edge of the cliff looking down on both sides to two beautiful beaches. You cant enter but a glass window lets you see the shrine on the inside. The chapel dates to the 16 th century but some of its columns date to the 3 rd century. One of the most picturesque sites in the Algarve.

Dolphins on Christmas day
Dec 2019
Beautiful little chapel in an amazing spot. Glass fronted so you can see in, so no worries about opening times. Very interesting history. .Place to bring and light your own candle, sun sparkling all around and a swim-by from a pod of dolphins , what more can you ask for !

Beautiful, quiet spot with great views
Nov 2019 • Couples
This little chapel atop the cliff is a gorgeous little spot. It was super quiet in November with just myself and my partner up there for most of our visit. The church wasn’t open but we walked the grounds and looked peered through the chapel gate. Beautiful stop to check out. Great views. Great photo opportunities.

Beautiful monument on a cliff jutting out to sea
Nov 2019 • Friends
A friend drove me to see the chapel, which she said she’d never seen open. On a Tuesday morning it was a place of peace and tranquility and it appears to be more monument than a functioning chapel although there is an alcove for lighting candles.
The views of cliffs and the ocean are stunning. I’m so appreciative of my friend taking me along to see this beautiful landmark.

Stunning ! Best when sunny.

We discovered the chapel during a boat excursion and decided we had to come back and take a closer look.
It is definitely worth a detour 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹. Can easily understand why Muslims and Christians have both made this promontory a place of worship and prayer.

Beautiful beach
Nov 2019 • Couples
One of our favourite beaches in Armação de Pêra. Very pretty location. There is a tunnel through the rocks where you can walk through to next beach which has lots of shells. Beach bar and restaurant. Also boat trips available.
