Most Mt. Etna excursions stop at the Silvestri Craters on the lava-covered slopes, but with this exclusive tour you can reach the top of Europe’s highest active volcano with a volcanologist guide. Take a cable car and off-road vehicle to Torre del Filosofo and then continue on foot about a mile (2 kilometers) to the summit craters. Learn about the volcano’s history from your guide and enjoy sweeping views over the coastline.

We were looking for somewhere to have a drink during a short, 1hr 30m, stop and decided to try La Bottega de Monsu. We are so glad we did. We only had a beer, but it was truly outstanding. We were given extra little treats which was so thoughtful. The service can only be described as lovely; friendly and very welcoming. Three others from the tour, we were on, also ordered a Tuna salad, a cheese and meat platter and Bruschetta. They rated them as 10 out of 10. They only serve Sicilian beer, wines and food. If you are in the vicinity, then you must visit.

Wonderful welcome from the lovely Antonio and his family, we went back a second time and were blown away by the friendliness. We only went in for a glass of wine but... Plenty of wines to try, lovely plate of cold meats and cheeses, the best garlic chilli spaghetti and pistachio biccies to die for.

This unpretentious restaurant surprises for its quality and great location! The warm and friendly chef-owners, Antonio and Graciella, offer not only a great selection of Sicilian products but also present a traditional and delicious menu using local products. Delectable home-made ice-cream. If you visit Acireale, La Bottega dei Monsu is a must!

Outstanding wine, modest prices and super friendly personnel - I saw only a fee places like this and given the location next to the dome and all the festivals, this is a precious - love to come here!
