We all know what Florence Duomo looks like, St Peter's in Vatican City, St. Mark's in Venice... well... this is easily in that category. The sculptured figures in front, alone are worth a trip. The cherubs in front, the Old Testament prophets, the incredible paintings...More

Acireale apparently has 100 churches! This one is worth stepping into. You can further enjoy it it from across the square whilst having a gelato at the bar exactly across, the other side of the square.

A real jewel of baroque architecture - beautiful facade and interiors. The church is right in the city center and worth a visit especially for those in love with architecture and history.

The facade is really where this church stands out. There are many angels and columns and niches. Fascinating. Inside there are some interesting frescoes, but not to the same quality as the outside art.

Facade beautiful in the afternoon glow – bar at the opposite side of the street is a great way to forget your sightseeing-stress!
