Charming

I fell in love with Otranto! Clean and very well organised, it has a lot to offer for tourists. This town has an amazing number of restaurants and bars and the choice caters for all tastes. Quite a few places of interest to see including a castle (fortress) church and historical centre but what I enjoyed most were the small slleyways lined with shops and bars in each nook and cranny. Very tasteful and elegant places throughout the town

I Love Otranto!
Mar 2020
It took a while to park and after parking it was a 10 minute walk to the main area along the Adriatic Sea. Otranto bustles with people from all over, but also many locals. I wasn't sure what I thought at first, but after meandering past the shops, restaurants the seafront, I was hooked. It's a great place for families, friends, couples or business meetings. There are some very sweet moments with friendly dogs, friendly people and little shops. Many restaurants have delicious seafood and other dishes.

Walk the old city walls
Aug 2020 • Couples
Came here on route to Santa Maria di Leuca as had also read about taking the SP358 coastal road to the heel. We only stayed around an hour but time to walk through the old part of city and lovely views from the old castle across the bay.

Amazing place which the extreme Eastern point of Italy. It deserves a visit as the Adriatic Sea leaves smoothly for the Ionic beginning.

Nice old town
Jan 2020 • Couples
Very small seaside town on the Eastern side of Puglia about 40 minutes from Lecce. Has a Aragonian castle, a cathedral, and a basilica. Every town needs these.

Nice town
Sep 2019
The Historic Center of Otranto is fairly small, set right on the seaside with some impressive hills. The real stars are the walls, Cathedral and the wonderful views.

Wonderful medieval town to explore.

Really enjoyable town to wander around and plenty of harbourside cafe and restaurants to while away a relaxed lunchtime and afternoon. Whats not to like.

Beautiful ‘castle’ in the middle of town
Oct 2019 • Couples
This walled city centre is a beautiful stone structure centuries old. You can wander through and choose a restaurant, find gelato, buy local wares or just look at the sea and watch the world go by.

Beautiful walled city
Oct 2019 • Couples
The old town is within grand walls...lots of shops yes, but find your way through the street and have a meal looking out over beautiful water and harbor. Many shops sell local items and on weekends there is a flea market/garage time sale by locals. They has some beautiful old wine fermenting bottles that we would have loved sending home.
