    Best town on the Adriatic
Best small town in Puglia. Hotel Indelli was the best find in Puglia. Great staff, clean AC room with conformance beds. Great restaurant and cafe to enjoy a birra or spritz. Really a special place.

    Another Puglia cute town
Monopoli was the second town on our week long Puglia tour. It's located another 15 min drive south from Polignano a Mare. While Polignano is famous for its high cliffs with houses perched on top of them, Monopoli is a medieval fortified town. Tall walls encircle the historic center with Carlo V fortress controlling the access from the sea. Within the walls is a cute, picturesque old town with old stone streets, cute old port and dozens of bars and restaurants.

    Faboluos place
We spent 5 days in Puglia and took a trip into this picturesque town. We travelled by train from Bari, it’s short, 30-35 minutes, comfortable and cheap (3,60 EUR). I think Monopoli is one of the most beautiful places of Puglia. It presents the authentic Italian culture. The Old Town is a faboluos place with its narrrow streets and old historic buildings. We enjoyed walking there.

Beautiful beach, beautiful white washed houses and a lovely harbour.
Absolutely beautiful! Arrived by train from Ostuni (€6 each), ten minute walk from the station to our apartment, which was on the front overlooking the beach. Stunning white washed buildings, beautiful little shops and lots of restaurants. We walked around for a couple of hours and stopped at little bars in the town, then wandered down to the beach front, the water looks stunning! Too cold for a dip, but definitely worth a beach holiday here.

We spent 3 days in the Centro Storico di Monopoli at B&B La Cattedrale and loved this medieval fortified town. You can walk here from the train station and the town is small and pedestrianized with lovely views of the sea. There are many restaurants and shops and yet it's not as touristy as many of the other towns. There are a few churches to visit, but you are able to just relax and enjoy the slower pace of Puglia. A day visit to Polignano al Mare is a few minutes away by an inexpensive train ride and you can also use Monopoli as a base to explore other towns in Puglia using the train.

Very white, with an ancient charm and embellished with multicolored flowers, the historic center of Monopoli is among the most beautiful, romantic and evocative to visit in Puglia.

Lovely working port. Fishermen were friendly and fun to engage.

Nice part of the old town. Busy with people taking pictures.

Well worth a walk along the piers day or evening.
Plenty of photo ops.
