Since the 2014 earthquake. Date of re-opening unknown. Lovely panorama, though. Road to and from Lixouri not for the faint-hearted.

At the western edge of the island cropped on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Ionian. Breathtakingly beautiful coast line with an extraordinary sunset a must !

Drove cross country from Lixouri down some challenging roads/ tracks but the Monastery is not open to the public.

we drove to the monastery from XI, at first we got lost! so drove round quite a lot, we eventually got there at 1.15 and it closes at 1pm till 4pm the monk still let us have a quick look round but did,nt explain anything...More
