We decided to tour Sachsenhausen without a guide but used the audio guide @ 3 Euro. Very informative and we were given a great commentary on how the camp was used. The great thing about this compared to some other memorials (in other countries) is...More

A sombre and educational tour by a knowledgable tour guide, Alicia. She explains clearly the unfolding events that led to the genocide during WWII.

I have only been to one other concentration camp (Dachau). Sachsenhausen seems similar in that there aren't many original structures remaining. However, I remember Dachau having more of an impact on me. There are a lot of displays at Sachsenhausen, but many are just too...More

Georgia is a great guide. Very informative. She was very helpful and even gave us recommendations on food and other places to see for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend booking this tour w/ her.

A very informative, emotional tour. Taylor did an excellent job of explaining the history and context of what we were viewing.

I went on this tour with Insider Tours and was lucky to get the same guide, Mike, from the Berlin Walking Tour. An impassioned history buff, he once again provided so much useful information throughout the trip. When he re punted the numerous atrocities committed...More

Sachsenhausen memorial/museum was used as a concentration camp between 1936 & 1945. It’s free to enter, though lots of groups come through & if you really want to learn the most you can it would be recommended to go with a tour. We went on...More

Considering the material on this tour, I can imagine it would be hard to properly capture the emotion of the facility, all of the history and come across professionally and respectful. However, that is exactly what Jules, our tour guide for the day, was able...More

I think you would need to be discrete. People are generally reverential there as it was a place where horrible things happened

Hi J. The time includes travel, you have approx 2 1/2 hrs at the camp. It's a real eye opener, sobering and well worth visiting. Hope you enjoy Berlin, we did 😁.
