What a lovely setting! The cheese tasting was delicious and informative. We learned about many different cheese making techniques and enjoyed some very tasty cheeses and preserves. Friendly and inviting

So many times I've threatened to drive the 'old road' to Kzn, South Coast and in particular the R103- the Midlands Meander. Driving at a leisurely pace to take in all the surrounding beauty, we came across MERRAKESH CHEESE. The owner walked to the shop and greeted us as we arrived, advising we are about to spend the next 20 to 30 minutes tasting their offering of cheeses. The gastrnomic tour included how and when cheeses are made, flavoured, what's added, when, why they opt to live here and more. All exceptionally interesting. In the end we left knowing a little more about the cheese making process. At the end we drove out with our selection of MERRAKESH cheese, that we would savour and eat while watching the ocean from our balcony. Next time take a turn off the N3 and be sure to make this stop in the Rosetta area, part of your journey.

Walked away with some delicious cheese and was greeted and helped by a very pleasant and knowledgeable lady who runs the farm with her husband . However there is a lot more that could be done in the little shop . Walls are falling apart , paint peeling , no where to sit .. tasting was done standing over the counter . While nothing is wrong with the set up it does leave much to the imagination . The drive way up is treacherous however . Not a fun drive . But probably the most notable thing of the visit was the lack of hygiene standards during the tasting!! Very concerning , especially considering the current Covid 19 outbreak but , concerning even under normal circumstances . If you want some food cheese then I’d say pass by but don’t have high expectations of you’re hoping to have a relaxing/inviting setting to do a tasting.

Really a must stop for a cheese tasting. They have a really good selection of cheeses to pick from. Take a cool box with if you visit. They also have some tasty marmalade.

The owner gave us a great overview of his cheese and we tasted a number of them. They are really good and we bought a few. They also have jams and marmalade to buy. Definitely worth a stop.
