Caribbean’s Best Kept Secret
Apr 2021 • Couples
Just arrived from a short visit to Copamarina Beach Resort. My wife and I had last been here some years ago. The place is lovely and meticulously well kept.

The staff was helpful and the service excellent. We had wonderful meals in both restaurants. Luis “Tortilla” attended the breakfast buffet. He provided attentive service with a smile and made us feel like at home. He even remembered the way I like my omelette.

The beach is shallow but transitions into a beautiful cove with golden sand toward the western end of the property. The best time to visit is during week days since it is more quiet and private.

There are so many places to visit; La Parguera only a 20 minute drive away, Mayagüez on the western coast of the island and Ponce, also known as the southern capital of Puerto Rico.

If you decide to stay in the Hotel, you can hike in the Dry Forest of Guánica where you’ll enjoy spectacular views. Tamarindo beach is a short ride down the road from the hotel. Gilligan’s Island is easy to reach by boat. Remember to carry water and sun blockers. Always wear a hat.

We strongly recommend this wonderful oasis on the Caribbean coast. You will feel brand new when you return home.

omg! loved it.

Beautiful sandy beach! Crystal Clear Water.
Very few vendors on the beach when we visited, but we were there in the "off season".
You can walk down the beach to drink at the hotel bar, or farther past that to the businesses near the ferry that goes to "Guilligan's Island" (aka Cayo Arroya)
The Park has great shower and bathroom facilities. Or at least it did before the earthquake. I will try to update this soon.

we paid $5 to park in the "Balneairo" Parking lot, but I saw later that others parked on the side of the road farther down and just walked. It's up to you to decide if you want to support the Parks System of PR. It def needs the support.

Beautiful, Untouched Beach
Jun 2017
Went in January 2017 (just noticed that my review never posted when I initially wrote it). Stumbled upon this gem at the suggestion of a local resident of Ponce. Since our hopes and dreams for a day long trist on Flamingo Beach in Culebra were dashed by choppy Atlantic seas, we took the over an hour and a half ride down towards Ponce for calmer Caribbean waters. We were definitely not disappointed!

The drive in felt as if we were traveling to an exclusive portion of the island. The beach, being that it is not highly populated, has quite a bit of seaweed. However, this did not overshadow the incredible beauty found there! There were no more than about 20 other people on the beach, mostly locals. You can see the exclusive Gilligan's Island from afar. The beach is also next to the Hilton Resort and Golf Course. Beautiful beach homes are seen in the distance beyond the resort.

We were able to rent beach chairs for $5 each, but you have to leave your ID in exchange for the rental. There was also a small store with snacks/chips and drinks (including alcoholic beverages).

While on the beach, we were approached by a young man offering Jet Ski rides with him, his father, and his father's best friend. We decided to take them up on the deal, and had a blast! They took us out around Gilligan's Island (we were not allowed to go on as it is protected land, and the number of patrons are restricted per day), where the waters were actually rather shallow, clear, and we saw coral! They took us out beyond this and we saw dolphins swimming below us!

Insects: A family came up to use the shelter near where we were sitting. We noticed a big wasp nest at the top of the shelter. There were also bees near the garbage cans. Just a warning to be careful, or carry insect spray.

Great alternative

This is a nice public beach down road from Gilligan's island. This is one of the few with lifeguards and restrooms. You pay $4 for parking, which is limited close to the beach. People began to make their own spots to avoid parking near the entrance. You can rent small chairs for $3 and Long Beach chairs for $5. They hold your ID until you return with the chair. There are covered picnic areas with tables but you need to get there early. Otherwise bring an umbrella.

This was a beautiful beach. But I think children's will enjoy more because the beach isn't so deep like others beach. But it's a beautiful place you can take wonderful photos.

Excellent service and all the food served looked fabulous. We had burgers, sweet potato fries with limeades and enjoyed every bit. They have a large beer selection and full bar.

Best beach for family with young children
Dec 2016 • Family
Safest beach and the best beach for family with young children! You have all the facilities like changing rooms and bathrooms and they have tons of little gazebos. The water is very shallow and kids can swim without adults worrying about them. The waves are not very choppy either and they have life guards too! There is a little mini market on the beach for little snacks. Adults should come with their own drinks and lunches. Loved every single second spent here!

Clear water. Great for the kids!

We couldn't make it to Gilligan's Island so we went to this beach and we were very surprised to see how beautiful it was. There are areas whre the water is very clear and nice. I would recommend it for the whole family. This beach is right next to Copa Marina Beach Resort. You need to pay $4 (per car) to park. They have showers and restrooms (Not the best ones but they work and that's what really matters.

We spent like two hours there and had a great time. Please bring your own snacks and drinks since there is no place to buy anything at the beach.
