Overview
More
With stunning views across Easter Ross to Ben Wyvis, Tollie Red Kites provides close-up views of our most graceful bird of prey. A team of volunteers feed the birds every day and you can watch them feed from the comfort of a specially-converted farmstead building. Tollie Red Kites is a partnership between RSPB Scotland and the Brahan Estate. Entry by donation, suggested £5.

We had an excellent visit today to see the red kites. Brad who manages the site was on hand to answer questions, and is clearly very knowledgeable. The kites were stunning to see, and we would highly recommend this as a place to visit.

We arrived not knowing quite what to expect. 230pm in summer is when they put food out for the Kites. Two were already waiting in the trees when we arrived. We sat in front of a large window which gave a great view looking across...More

The road to the kites is off the beaten track and you can barely call it a road, it was very pitted and potted. The site itself is quite basic, says picnic area which is two benches, the guide/feeder was not particularly friendly, chatty or...More

Sorry, to hear you were disappointed with your visit. Unfortunately the maintenance of the track is out of our control, but we are doing what we can to reduce the size and number of potholes. I agree about the feeding situation using a table being...More

Red Kites may be common in many parts of UK now but it is still great to see them diving down to skim the feeding table and before you know it swinging back in for more. The warden is very helpful and you get a...More

We visited the RSPB Tollie Red Kites yesterday and weren’t disappointed! The gentleman who came to feed was right on tome at 2:30 spreading the meat out. We saw 6 birds feeding along with lots of gulls and 2 buzzards. It was stunning!! The facilities...More

Thank you for your comments, sorry you didn't get to see the kites at Tollie at their best, but as you said in your title nothing can be guaranteed. Yes, we would have expected more kites by now, probably should have passed Gigrin in numbers...More
