Charming Borgo Antico
Sep 2019
We visted the Castello Argonese and then the Borgo Medievale, done the road from the castle. It's a very old charming place, with small churches, small restaurants, stairs down to the city centre. From the top you can have beautiful view of Agropoli and the Mediterranean see.

beautiful quaint location with fantastic views
May 2019 • Couples
Really loved this quaint location, steep steps but well worth the visit. Lots of small cafes along the route and benches so you can take a rest. Immaculately clean and very friendly.

Nice medieval town
Feb 2018 • Solo
Nice medieval town, with a monumental stair and city gate marking the entrance to the older part perched on top of a hill overlooking the sea. At the highest point stands the pretty Byzantine/Aragonese castle which provides an incredible view over the surrounding landscape, in which the Amalfi coast is easily spottable in the distance.

Very seasonal.

I stayed in Agropoli Oct 10-11 mainly to visit nearby Paestum. But I also wanted to see the old town and eat out. Reportedly people have lived in the area of the Agropoli old town for centuries B.C., even before Paestum was settled by the Greeks. But sites like the old castle closed on September 30 and many shops and restaurants were either closed or open on weekends. The whole scene is geared towards the patterns of Italian vacationers so don’t count on a lively town once the beach places slow down. There are some nice views of the sea and atmospheric narrow, hilly lanes but best visited in Summer!

Visited this castle because everybody was talking about it. Entrance cost only 1 Euro. Did not worth more than that.
Nice for taking view pictures but thats it.

Beautiful medieval village overlooking the ocean
Aug 2018 • Family
This place is definitely worth a visit!!
When arriving from the city, you walk up wide steps until you reach the gate of the medieval city. Then strolling up to your right, you walk through very picturesque cobblestone streets up to the Castille Castle overlooking the other side of the bay.
The village has a nice and authentic atmosphere.
If you follow the locals, there are well hidden small swimming spots where the water is crystal clear.

Really romantic little medieval town, we tried to help some children recuperate their football...

Loved the atmosphere and the views onto the bay! We met a norwegian lady living there and we helped a group of kids in retrieving their football stuck on a wall!

the ONLY place to stay in Agropoli
Jun 2018 • Friends
This great Centro Storico is the only place to experience Agropoli. It's the best way to get a real sense of the wonderful people living in this quarter, the views are breathtaking, this is just a very special place to live in.
