I went to the ranario (frog zoo) on my solo trip to Monteverde, after dark. The frogs are in terrariums, behind glass, separated by species or family group. They are kept in good conditions and are bred here. The babies are released once a year...More

We were not sure what to expect but came out having thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The insect exhibit at the start was great. Huge beetles and butterflies all mounted artistically. Then our guide Jose took us to the frogs. Jose spoke very good English and was...More

Our family had a mixed experience of this place - I loved it, kids and hubby said they were bored about mid-way (that might be because they were quite tired by the time we visited). This is not a pond, but rather a 'garden' with...More

Despite going in the daytime our guide managed to find plenty of frogs some of them tiny. I guess for the money it didn't meet my expectations
