To access this beach you need to either wait for the tide to go out a bit or walk through Las Catalinas and take the wooden walkway over a small creek and then follow a path through the woods up and down bike trails and it will deposit you at the beach.
There are no facilities. The beach is secluded and you will not see many if any people. The sand is much nicer than at Las Catalinas. On a Sunday’s you will some some local families on the beach enjoying the day and picnicking.

Beautiful beach with little waves and next to the town Las Catalinas. I highly recommend going to this beach because it is beautiful and also next to the town of Las Catalinas, a quiet town with a good range of food and bathrooms. I highly recommend going to this place with children, they will have an incredible time.

Playa Danta is a hidden gem . We love it because it's a nice 10 minute easy hike down to the cove so it's fun to do as a family . The beach itself is small but beautiful . The water is crystal blue and silky. Most of the time there are not many people there so it's like having your own private beach !!

Great beach and right next to the town of Las Catalinas. Some good snorkeling near the rocky areas on the left and right side when the wind is low and not churning things up. Fantastic place to watch the sunset too.

We visited this beach twice while renting a house on Playa Potrero. It’s surrounded by a huge high end development but still draws both locals and tourists, and was clearly a popular spot without being overcrowded. There is a bar and restaurant with solid food (lunch/snacks and cocktails were better than dinner in our experience) and a shop with coffee and water sport rentals run by very friendly, knowledgeable staff. On our first visit, early in our trip, we swam out to the small diving raft and lounged on the beach. The second time we rented boogie boards as the waves were perfect, and spent hours in the water before watching the sun set.

Quick 2 minute golf cart ride from our hotel Casa Chameleon. This is a car-free beach. It was quiet, not crowded, and had amazing views. Playa Dantita was right next to it and accessible by beach when it was low tide or by a fun hike at high tide. There is a really good restaurant Limonada and water sports shop Pura Vida Ride that also had coffee and gelato. We highly recommend both of those.

Las Catalinas at Playa Danta, Costa Rica, is a resort facility that caters to those who need stand alone accommodations with the benefit of hotel/concierge and house keeping services. We stayed from Dec. 26-Jan. 2 and were very pleased with the service, food, pool facilities (kids pool. Lap pool, adult pool), yoga, catamaran sailing, and beach access. Not to be missed. Our concierge ((Yerado) was especially helpful.

We stayed in Las Catalinas for a week, and the weather was excellent the beach was beautiful and we had an excellent vacation. The beach is a private beach and it is in a cove - there are a couple of small islands that you can swim too, there is excellent snorkeling and fishing. You can go kayaking, paddle boarding or just sit by the ocean. Very beautiful place and highly recommend Las Catalinas.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Las Catalinas resort located on this beach. But I loved the fact that the public could also use the beach and eat at the restaurant there called Limonada or rent boards, kayaks, snorkels, etc from Pura Vida Ride. Most days, it was a pretty heavy break which was good for boogie boarding. Also some sand (black volcanic sand) so if you have a skim board, there is space to use it. As well as an inflated platform set up in the ocean to swim to or paddle out to. And a walking path to get to Danita beach.

There are rocks in one spot right in front of Lemonada. Avoid those, go east a bit and there are no rocks and sandy bottom.
