Sweet little castle to visit when you drive the Coastal Road. Slightly spoilt by the fencing around it. Not well sign posted.

Not really much to see. Nice area around it for a picnic or just to sit. Not very good information available there. A bit disappointed.

This is a ruin of a Norman Motte and Bailey type structure. Not much to see. Not really well maintained and the blurb about it was indecipherable behind perspex that was coated in green algae/moss. Time for a clean up!!

The remnants of Fethard Castle were charming. Though a traditional castle existed on the site in the 12th century, a more 'fortified posh house' was built in the 15th century. This was once occupied by the Loftus family (big name in these parts, they then...More

The castle itself is in a very sorry state, it is completely fenced off and all you can do is walk through the field that surrounds it. With some investment I think it has a lot of potential to be a real landmark but until...More
