We thoroughly enjoyed our dip at the beach here. It’s located just past the lighthouse coming from Ponta DelGada—not a lot of signage. Drive down as far as you can go to a parking lot and then walk over some lava rocks (you will need...More

Just a couple of Km from the village, this is a treasure. Somehow the lava going down to the ocean left a “pothole” that can be filled by the rising tide but also has an outlet on one side that keeps the waters in the...More

Water pools best at high tide. Definitely need water shoes and be fairly nimble to get to pools. Still enjoyable but not a place for families with younger children. Water Closet on site.

It was very interesting to bath in geothermally heated up to more then 30 degrees. Changing rooms are a little bit dirty, but there is nice toilet in the building by parking. better to have shoes to water.

We went in spring with strong winds and rain. Still, even we could not swim the place is unique. The waves are wild in an unreal landscape. Just breathtaking scenery.

Was there last summer with family and was expecting a nice beach but instead all rocks and no real place to lay down properly and enjoy proper swimming.
