Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. As you drive through the tunnel you know you have arrived at Lyttelton and get to see the harbour stretched out in front of you. We went for a drive to Governor's Bay and back to Lyttelton so beautiful.

Harbour is atteactive but, inaccessible. No fishing off the pier with the kids! Unfriendly and under-develloped waterfront.A poorly developed resource for tourists.

We drove around the harbour from Governors Bay to Diamond Harbour and on our return it was high tide and the harbour was like a mirror. Just a beautiful sight.

Nice little harbour. It reminded me of the olden days, with Lyttelton perched up on the mountain behind it. Driving through the tunnel from Christchurch and then seeing there harbour is nice.

Hidden behind the Skyline, it is a very nice spot to spend a couple of hours. Great place to park the car and walk around the town. If you go on a Saturday, the market would be on.

Drove here whilst visiting Christchurch; nothing much to see. Some foreshore civil work's near a very small yacht club. Small town on the hill with a variety of shops; accom & a fee restaurants & takeaways. Very limited food options open on Mondays.

Take the Black Diamond ferry across to Diamond Harbour and walk up to the village for a coff, icecream ,drink or a meal. A delightful day away from the city but so close.

there is nothing to see in Lyttelton, an industrial port, best thing on the water is the waterfront fish restaurant
