Luquillo is one of the most beautiful natural beaches on the island. Sadly, the hurricanes
That have come thru and lack of funds for repair has left the beaches man-made structures in ruin. Don’t let that deter you from the transparent warm waters and powdery sand! From el banners de Luquillo if you’re an adventurer,
You can walk all the way to Playa Azul and enjoy the waves and even watch some surfers at “La Pared”. Just make sure before you trek to check the high tide.
I don’t recommend walking it in high tide and definitely not at night. Very dangerous.

I took our family and we had a wonderful time with very little planning!

Remember, if you don’t live here there are holidays where the parking and access via vehicles is closed (ex. New Years Day)

Amazing beach with calm waters. We went during the week and pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Great food at the kiosks as always.

Start your day with some beautiful beach play! Paid $4.00 USD to park then $25.00 for a beach umbrella and two layout chairs. Totally worth the money and plenty of $7 piña colada options at the snack bar. Get there before 11am to land the best spots. Will come back many more times. 🏝🇵🇷

Beautiful beach! You should go with essential things such as beach chair, suntan lotion and the things that you will eat and drink. Parking is a little far from the beach. If you have a folding wagon will be best. The El Yunque view from the beach is beautiful Beach is clean and has bathrooms. Recommended!

This is a wonderful swimming beach; peaceful waters in radiant blue. The view from the water of lush El Yunque can't be beat. Weekends brings many families and children...a low key party atmosphere, weekdays very tranquil. Parking in the official lot is $4. There are basic kiosks for drinks and food. The "famous" food kiosks and restaurants at the top of the beach offer traditional Puerto Rican food, ceviche etc. The larger restaurants are expensive.

Gates are closed and the whole area looks like a desert island, just terrible. Too bad that the government doesn't take advantage of such a beautiful place.

It is a beautiful beach, but the facilities are in awful condition. You still pay $4 to park and $1 to use the showers and lockers, which are in awful condition.

We vacationed in December, and the rip currents were very strong in the area. This beach was perfect! Safe, plenty of shade, and restrooms were clean.

Came here with the family on the penultimate day of our vacation which happened to be a Saturday. A couple of folks recommended that we access and enjoy the beach by the La Parilla food kiosk. However, we decided to park in the large parking lot which cost a whopping $2 or $3. Our reason for parking here was that we wanted to be a little farther away from the bustling food kiosks. The walkway to the beach from the lot was paved with beautiful palm trees and it was large open park-type space. Although it was a Saturday, the beach was far from crowded and was a perfect blend of locals and tourists. The sand was perfect and clean the water was free of seaweed and super calm. They had lifeguards on duty but the beach waves were non-existent. A couple of ice cream carts kept kids happy and the food stand was inexpensive and tasty. We didn’t need to use the bathroom or showers but I understand that they require a modest fee to use (a buck or so). Chair rentals were available for a modest fee as well. They had a volleyball net but you might need to bring ur own ball. Another thing my wife noticed is that we went to four different beaches during our one-week stay and not once did we encounter annoying vendors on the beach (i.e., no hair braiding). It was peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed this beach a ton. We even saw some turtles come up for air in the distance. It is a great spot for a family beach day.

The Public Beach facilities are adequate, but after Hurricane Maria, and C-19, the facilities are not as pretty as they used to be. However, you can still enjoy this gorgeous half-moon beach, with El Yunque peak as a back drop, by simply accessing the beach the from behind LA PARILLA RESTAURANT. LA PARILLA restaurant is clean, safe and has great parking, just feet away from the beach. Food prices are WELL WORTH IT. By the way, currently the Public Beach is not open MONDAYS or TUESDAYS, yet you can still access the access the beach going behind LA PARILLA.
