It was our last full day in Puerto Rico, and we really wanted to have a great beach day. To use this beach, you have to go through a gated entrance and pay four dollars to park. From that point on, it doesn't cost you anything unless you choose to spend money. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. We had gotten there early, and decided to rent an umbrella and a pair of lounge chairs, which cost us $35 for the day. Considering we ended up spending nearly 7 hours on the beach, it was definitely worth the purchase price.

The beach is gorgeous, and the water is rock free. It did get quite busy, but we actually enjoyed the people watching. There are vendors that walk up and down the beach, selling ice, creams and drinks, but there are also little Kioskos on the property that you can walk to easily to order hot food. At the one we visited, we got delicious slushy's, Pinchos, and empanadillas that were all delicious. We had a great time, and would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!

When you leave the gated parking lot, you are literally around the corner from the Luquillo kioskos if you want to hit them up for shopping or dinner after your beach day. Makes things super convenient!

Beautiful beach suitable for families, with many activities as well as quiet sections. We walked this extended beach for 4 miles each way. Water was very clear, clean/sandy beach and fun people watching! Plenty of parking for $4 entry fee.

This beach is well kept. Other reviews mentioned the 30 or more food stands that have a lot of trash.

Those are off property and a little down from the territory beach. Many of them are fantastic. Unfortunately people don't pick up their trash in the evening.

The territory beach also has a food stand. Ice cream treats and many lunch items are available. The beach is perfect with soft
clean sand and lots of trees if you like shade. A special feature of Monserante is the Beach without Boarders. This handicapped beach is fantastic with large dressing rooms and bathrooms. The best part is the wheelchair ramp directly into the ocean and the railings people can use. There are wide steps with railings too. There is a special Handicapped parking lot for this beach. All of Monserante is well kept.

I have been returning to this beach for 30 years or so. It is easy to find with cheap parking, chair and umbrella rentals, food and fabulous pina colada's for sale. The water is warm and calm and clear. Perfect for anyone but especially nice for families. The beach is lined with palm trees if you are looking for shade. Sadly, I think Maria (hurricane) and probably the financial woes of Puerto Rico has allowed the area to suffer in disrepair. There are several abandoned buildings and the landscaping has gone wild. That being said, I would still recommend. It is a lovely spot and hopefully it will soon see some updates.

Calm, blue waters with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The facilities and parking inside of it are closed Monday's and Tuesday's. But, you might still be able to find a parking spot outside. There is a parking fee of about $4 per vehicle. For a fee, you can also have access to a private bathroom and rent a kayak.

We stayed in Luquillo for 11 days in February/early March. There are several nice stretches of beach in the area. This one is nice but the only pay to park area. The plus side of that is you don’t have to hunt for a place to park but it does cost. If you have young children this is a great option as the break is very gentle compared to the other more exposed beaches- really more like a big swimming area. The beach itself, is nice, wide and there is shade. There are services but strangely you have to pay a dollar to use the bathrooms and locker room.
Apparently the picnic areas were much nicer and covered before the last hurricanes so that hasn’t been completely repaired yet.
You are within walking distance from the kiosks and can access them from the beach for food and there is also a snack bar, umbrella rental and alcoholic drinks available.
The day we were there it was not crowded but it was a week day so that may change on weekends- but that was true with all the beaches in the area.
If you have been to Magan’s Bay on St Thomas, we thought this had a very similar feel to it and the beach was of equal quality.
It is also close to El Yunque so you could easily do both in the same day if you did not spend a lot of time hiking.
All in all, we would visit here again.

This entire beach facing north and then curving west is protected from February's prevailing NE wave and wind energy, so the water is uncommonly flat. Go further north (right) away from the parking and facilities for a more peaceful and less-trafficked experience.
We arrived on a Tuesday unaware the main parking area was closed (clearly described in google if one looks) There were a couple of fellows collecting $5 to park in the driveway area. I doubt they're official in any way, but they do seem to secure the area and are very friendly so we paid them, as did everyone else we saw when we unloaded and then reloaded.
The north end of this little peninsula is protected by a reef, which had me excited for the snorkeling prospect. Meh. It's a big sand shoal covered with grass, and can get really shallow. There were very few fish. I saw a turtle, a small barracuda, and a big crab all crusted with barnacles.
There was a free shower near the main purple gates.
I'm a trash collector, but there was very little trash, thankfully. I saw another couple also collecting trash.
