We had a morning to spend at Mallaig before boarding the Jacobite train back to Fort William. we had great weather, and a wonderful walk that gave us a sense of the moor. Very peaceful, and away from the maddening crowds.

The Circular Walk is a great way to get out and explore the town. We enjoyed the walk and the view from the top. We asked for directions from a local and they easily pointed out the start of the walk - from there we...More

This was a lovely walk. Yes it's steep the first part of the walk but take it slowly and you'll be fine. The only scary part of the walk was having to walk along the road on the way back. We saw all sorts of...More

This was a well signposted walk up over the top of the hill. It wasn't far but we did have a train to catch. A hilly walk but good footing. I am not a great walker but to heart problems but the was very doable....More

Although it was windy and wet, the views were stunning! It felt like we were on another planet. Signage was OK too.

This is a very good walk for a dog! You leave Mallaig by a small path which takes you into the hills and eventually to a small loch and then back into Mallaig through farmland. I actually saw a wild cat!

The start of this walk is opposite the harbour. There is a sign on the steps pointing the way. The first part leads up towards the Glen. Dont forget to look back and admire the view of the harbour! The whole walk is clearly signposted....More

This sounded a bit more interesting than it was in reality. Fairly steep beginning followed by a rocky and uneven trail. You are immersed in a valley and get the idea of how difficult farming would be.

We had a couple of hours to spare before the train left and found this walk. Lovely views from the top and an escape into the countryside.
