I have just come back from a week in one of my most loved places. Porthleven is a small and rather lovely working fishing port in the far west of Cornwall. It’s smaller and not as commercialised as St Ives but certainly worth visiting. I’ve...More

A walk around the harbour and onto the beach at Porthleven is an absolute treat. There are some lovely little shops and two great pubs, The Harbour and The Ship. The Atlantic pub is a few tiers up from the harbour but also worth a...More

Unspoiled place with friendly local people. It was sooo unlike the madness of St. Ives! Heard from one fisherman that he catches 'wrasse' (never heard of before) just for the fight, you can't eat them. Worth a visit!

Just come down lots of places to eat and chill out. watch the storms in winter. Watch the birds, boats, surfers, tourists. Bring your dogs walk on the beach (not in the daytime Easter to Sept). Just the best place

It's a very interesting design! Hard to describe, but an amble round the walls will show several things of interest like cannons. Around one side are old resorted like kilns.
