The ancient village and the hermitage are fantastic. However you MUST be careful where you park. Park on Carrer Colon and walk up to the top. If you park at the public car park on Carrer de L'Uraguai then you will receive a €200 fine because this road is for pedestrians or for authorised vehicles and there is no other way out.
The sign is in Catalan only despite most visitors to the top being foreign and despite the fact that the vast majority of them will not speak Spanish.
If you eat or stay at the El Far restaurant (not the Japanese) you need to give reception your car details and they will inform the authorities so you don't get the fine.
I've seen some crazy things in Spain but this beats the lot. To be fined for leaving a public car park by the only possible exit route is plain daft. Why even have the car park there ?
I've now racked up €800 in fines this summer.

I rate the hotel as very positive but taking into account the price there are details as they could be:
•Condition of the varnish of the terrace furniture
•The bathrooms are outdated but I can understand that the style is in keeping with the building, which is very unique, but the lighting, for example, could be better maintained!
I believe that with a good interior study you can combine the modern with the “monumental”!!

The lighthouse is a must see visit as well as the surrounding area. Brilliant views and walks around and about.

Luckily it wasn't too hot when we set off from Llafranc, but the walk was uphill all the way - nice going down though.

Interesting place, extremely high walk / bike ride in our case, dangerous road to top, even more dangerous downhill shortcut back, beware !,,

Interesting location with lot of small things to discover. There is a semi-hidden path behind the lighthouse, you should look for. Amazing view of the coast. At the end of it, come back and continue the visit to the guard tower and the ancient ruins of the Iberian village. If you are fancy walking some more, the Camin the Ronda continues with some roller-coaster turns along the breathtaking coast.

Walked from CDP to the light house which is around 7 miles round trip. Its a bit hard going to get to the top, its pretty steep but worth it. The views at the top are great. There are walks around the cliff itself and there is an archaeological site that is explained with loads of signs for what it is. Very interesting Sant Sebastia, and well worth it.

Bit of a climb, but offers great views east and west, once you get to the top. Loads of parking if you want to drive. Plus public toilets and a bar, a restaurant and a hotel

You have 360 degree views of the area from here. We could not go in the lighthouse. There is a bus that comes here during tourist season or you can hike and it is a hike, so be prepared.

Cycled up and was looking forward to a cool drink/ice cream. However on a Saturday in October around midday the Japanese restaurant was closed and the hotel had a wedding on so would not serve other customers. Fantastic views along the coast both ways - make sure you do the short panorama path just under the hotel - free toilets here. Free of charge.

Can you still get the little road train up to the lighthouse?
Written 31 August 2019
It looks like there is a bus with a stop at the lighthouse that runs six times a day from 12 July to 22 September, starting in Palafrugell. And not that expensive, but you would have to wait for it to return after visiting the lighthouse. See the website for the Julivia bus line. When we were there at the end of July in 2018 I seem to recall a bus stop close to the parking area (we came by car) but I don't remember seeing a little road train or a bus arriving/departing during the several hours we were there.

It's the restaurant attached to the Hotel El Far so their website will have the detail.
