My beloved ermita. A place of devotion and prayer beloved by all the inhabitants of Talavera. It is called a Basilica for a reason. Admire its fine tiles and pottery display.

The Prado is a fine example of a church and sits on the edge of a nice relaxing park. The tiling is very impressive and it is worth sitting down to spend some time looking around.

Really nice building with fascinating decorations in tiles. Even over the pulpit. Look at the pictures and try and work out what they all mean.

The interesting thing about this church is the high quality ceramics. This is the so-called "Sixtine Chapel of Ceramics". Worth a visit

Absolutely astonishing. I'd never seen anything like this, even in Portugal. The tiles aren't only decorative - though they certainly are that - but also vividly expressive illustrations. It's well worth a journey to Talavera just to see this church.

The Basilica is quite beautiful and has a combination of Renaissance and Baroque styles. There is plenty of ceramic tile decoration, including the pulpit. So the church is quite interesting. The setting by the park is also very good, with gardens and flowers.
