An interesting walk through the forest which is not suitable for wheelchairs. The car park is FREE, there is a waymarked path along very steep paths and several huge trees have fallen and are waiting to be cleared away. There is a picnic bench near the car park and a bench higher up looking over the the mountains.

Difficult to find the car park - signage not great. Lovely walk - disappointed to find circular walk no longer available due to major storm damage - you can walk above the gorge but can't really get very far down in the gorge - we did the whole thing in 40 mins

For this walk you will need good walking shoes and the right clothes! Its often cold in the forest and wet so don't be fooled if the weather appears to be warm. You will need to be steady on your feet. I would not recommend this walk for someone that prefers straight paths. This walk is up and down and a bit of a climb in places. There are rabbit holes and large tree roots so be careful. People have lost there small dogs in this forest walk because they have probably gone down a hole and never been found. If you have a dog keep it on a lead.
Its about a 50 minute walk, worth it as there are beautiful trees, a small waterfall, and wild life to see if you are lucky.

It's clear from previous reviews that this used to be worth visiting. It's hard to imagine though as the half hour trail took us not much more than 10 minutes and we didn't bother with the other trail as the viewpoint looks into the gorge which is no longer a gorge and so wasn't worth seeing. Well maintained footpaths but not much going for it.

Don't bring your dog here, it'll die. Cool waterfalls here though and very tranquil, majestic even, very nice

The headline says it. Once a shady, secluded, gentle woodland walk it is now scarred open area with trees crashed around the gorge leaving barren, open spaces. The walk up the hill on the other side of the gorge has been blocked by fallen trees and the walls of the gorge are open hillsides showing the underlying rock. A great shame. Still, very quiet and peaceful and there are a few areas where Mother Nature's wrath is not so evident which could be used for a picnic outwith the midges season.

Sadly this walk has been completely ruined by many fallen trees and a landslide after storm damage. Still a lovely spot for a picnic and paddle in the river but not what it used to be. A real shame.

This walk is well advertised in the area, that is until you turn off the main road, the area around has a number of small local roads criss crossing each other, unfortunately we could not see any further signs and spent some time searching for it. The other people searching for it at the same time had the same problem. Once we did find it we set off on the circular walk advertised only to find it was closed due to a landslip and had been for some time. The walk was fine but the closure of the long loop was disappointing, a note on the map would have been helpful as would have been better signposting.

Read nice things about this walk, but having travelled many miles to get there, were disappointed to find it was closed for repair works due to ealier storm damage. We foolishly did not consider or think to check that it may be closed. So just a word of advice: if visiting Foresty Commission Scotland sites, do check their website first to confim the site is open. We will try again next time we visit lovely Scotland.

Had a fantastic walk round the Gorge. The dog loved playing in the river and the scenery was beautiful!
