Traditional looking place, good range of ales at reasonable prices. Friendly service and plenty of spaces to sit down and have a quiet chat. Close to the sea so good place to get some rehydration. Nice looking menu for the restaurant upstairs,
The Tartar Frigate is my favourite of the more conventional pubs in Broadstairs and features excellent live music.
The bar manager seems rather abrupt and inappropriate in the way he talks to customers but perhaps that just reflects a lack of idiomatic English.
