It was 1889 when the English colony of Florence founded the Florence Golf Club, the first italian golf association. It was founded in the Cascine area, then transferred to the Osmannoro area after the first world war. Between the 20’s and the 30’s the idea of creating a new golf course takes shape; in 1933 the Ugolino was realized on the Chiantigiana street on a project of the English architects Blandford and Gannon. A natural course, difficult, for differences in levels, the handicaps, the small and well defended green.Considered one of the most suggestive natural golf course of the world, it has been named among the 50 most beautiful golf course of the world by the American writer Chris Santella.

Italy's oldest course. Very low key and friendly but a beautifully situated course, great views, and a solid challenge. Tuscan hillside course so you have to play for the downhill roll. Good value for a classic course.

We enjoyed the golf course even though it was very wet underfoot after heavy rain - which made it more challenging than usual. But the wonderful staff and great restaurant made up for it and on both occasions had a wonderful lunch after our game....More

We only had time to play 9 holes, but it was well worth the visit. The course was in great shape and the landscaping was classic Tuscany (hilly terrain with cypress and olive trees). Just wish we had time to play 18 holes.

We drove to this golf course with the thought of "well, if it's all dried out and not in good shape, we just won't play". That didn't happen. We did play. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. For this course, you really need...More

I played the course in June 2003. It's a very nice course to play with the big added bonus of being surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills. The staff was cordial and the apres golf refreshments on the veranda were outstanding.
