If you stay in Fira or Oia there are going to be tons of travel agencies trying to sell you "tours" to white, black or red sand beach. DONT do it! Come here or Perivolos Beach instead. You would think the reason there is a...More

Visited Perissa beach with friends, we walked down the beach walk, didn't swim or sunbathe as it was very hot that day. We stopped and had lunch in one of the many pretty beach bars, there is a lot to do and see there a...More

The majority of the beach near the shops is covered in lounges and umbrellas that you pay for the privilege of using. It reminded me of Phuket before the government gave the beach back to the public by removing all the lounge sellers. The black...More

We visited Perissa beach 2 days in a row. The beach has many choices for chairs and restaurants. Some places will let you stay and use their chairs for free if you stink and eat there. First day we stayed at Sunset beach, the chairs...More

The water is clear. The sand is black. It's a refreshing spot for a swim. Lots of tourist restaurants along the beach. (I recommend Gyros Place back in the town square across from the church.)

The sand is more gravel than sand but a pair of swim shoes solves that problem. The sea is warm and there are plenty of sunbeds which are free as long as you buy a drink from the cafe that owns them.

The boat trips are leaving from the port. Ususlly will have a transfer from your hotel or from a pick-up point, arranged by the travel office who sold you the boat trip.
