I loved this beach. I've been to great beach towns like Phuket, Miami/South Beach, several different ones in Hawaii....and this one ranks right up there. Now...let me first get out that geography-wise, it may not be the best beach. The black sand gets VERY hot...More

We have been on many greek beaches from Aegina, Kos, Hydra, Mykonos, Rhodes, and others I cant remember. Out of all of them - this was our favorite. The black sand slopes gently out and the water is exceptionally clear. I don't know why -...More

A quiet, long beach with black sand and a plethora of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The water was fairly cold in the second week of October and the sea-bed is very very uneven (a constant pattern of potholes all over) so it's not ideal...More

Having grown up in Florida, beaches are something to which I am accustomed. Black sand ones, however, are a novelty for me and one being surrounded by craggy rocks makes it doubly so. The water in the area is very nice and has some rocks...More

I really liked this beach more than other beaches in Santorini, mainly beacuse somehow this is less crowded and is very clam and serene. There are a lot of restaurants overlooking the beach and we had nice dinners with a great beach view. we enjoyed...More

I always love white sand beach than black sand beach. I don't know but with black sand I felt like there is a creature there that will bite or eat me. It's crazy, it's childish. In Perissa, the black sand is endless. As a beach...More

A long stretch of beach on the east coast which was virtually uninhabited during our February visit. The beach is covered with thousands of black pebbles and the water is clear. As the waves retract from the beach there is a delightful hissing sound.

The beach is 3-4 kilometers long,,,,, There is tons of bars and restaurants. My advise is to go to the tiny blue tavern next to the massive rock, Frantseskos. You guys won't regret if you are into fish...!

The views are great -- as everywhere in Santorini. It's a long beach, many bars around. But that's not the kind of beach I enjoy -- it's dark, no sand, there are "little rocks". Water is wonderful, though. Note that you can start the hike...More

We didn’t rent a car because the bus is so easy to use. We went from Perissa Beach, to Fira and then to Oía, all with the bus and it was like 2-3 euros each way. Very easy and didn’t have to bother with driving

The boat trips are leaving from the port. Ususlly will have a transfer from your hotel or from a pick-up point, arranged by the travel office who sold you the boat trip.

I don’t think it’s walkable. Take a bus to a junction, there’s a walk to the lighthouse.
