It was my first time snowboarding and I quickly realized I needed lessons. I booked 2 private lessons with Jolan for snowboarding. It was the best choice I made because in those 2 lessons I got so much better. A big thanks to Jolan, he is a great teacher who is spontaneous and clearly loves his jobs and will do everything to help you learn snowboarding. If you ever want to get lessons for snowboarding with ESF I would highly recommend asking for Jolan.

We were in a group of 6-7 people. We had all skied before either we were all a bit rusty from skiing many years ago or just wanting to improve from beginner stage. We were in Class 1. Class 0 being total beginner. Our instructor was happy friendly OceAnn, who was always happy to show us how to ski and always very helpful. She took us all over the from Chatel over to Linga. Definitely would recommend. Many thanks!

We were a mixed group, with 5 people who had never skied before, and we booked private lessons with the ski school. The quality of instruction and encouragement was excellent with the two novice adults making steady and sound progress, confidently tackling blue runs and they can't wait to go back next year. The three children all had lessons booked with the same instructor, with the 3 year old having 30 minute lesson and the 5 and 7 year old having 90 minutes. After one session the instructor adapted this, with the 3 and 5 year old having 60 minutes and the 7 year old having 60 minutes. This expertise of an instructor to recognise pupils' needs cannot be praised highly enough, and by the end of 5 days the two younger ones were skiing confidently down the nursery slopes, whilst the 7 year old was able to tackle parts of a red run. Thanks to the calm patience and expertise of Maureen, their instructor, we were able to fulfill a family dream of having three generations skiing together on the slopes. The children also all want to go back again next year and there will be no hesitation on our part of booking them in for lessons with ESF.

Our son and daughter enjoyed three private lessons of three days with ESF instructors at Châtel. My eighteen year old daughter was a complete beginner and over the three days the instructors built her confidence. My sixteen yr old son is a more experienced skier and used his time with his instructors to explore all that Châtel had to offer. As my husband and I don’t ski our son felt more confident skiing in company and the ESF instructors were excellent tour guides who also gave tips on improving his skiing.

We had left booking lessons for our 3 and 6 year olds a little late, especially for half term, but managed to get them booked in with esf. Unfortunately they were not both in the same area of Chatel.

My 3 year old (turning 4 in 2 weeks) was put into the piou piou group at the Villages des Marmottons. I was worried about this as it's an area all of its own so you are not able to ski passed to check on progress. I felt it was more childcare with some skiing. I didn't feel I was able to stay even though my son wanted me to and I felt uneasy with this. Afterall, it's his family holiday and I didn't feel it right to leave him in a strange place with people he didn't know. Maybe I'd misunderstood when I booked but I thought it was ski lessons not childcare.

They did however agree to move him up to the 4 year old group which meant he spent a bit longer skiing and he progressed well. He gained confidence and skills so no complaints there.

The team were friendly and more than helpful and the kids seemed happy but I'd liked to have known about the set up in advance of arriving. Perhaps that was my fault and I should have looked into that more.

For my 6 year old, he was placed with Julian in Pres la joux and had an amazing time!  Julian kept us informed each day of my son's progress and by day 3 he was skiing a green run with us. Huge thanks to Julian. My son loved his lessons.

All in all a great experience with esf. I'd book with them again but would aim to get them in the same area next time.
