Very peaceful and quiet Park Beautiful walkways although the route is not clearly marked Whole Park unfortunately a little neglected. Google shows the entrance at the wrong side We almost missed it!

I spent close on to 3 hours walking through the gardens. Yes, it is dry, but there is still a lot to see.
Refreshing shade and lawns to relax on by the stream.

A easy, but rough, trail takes you up and over the hill where you can see panoramic views of the towns and surroundings.

At a R5.00 per person entrance fee it is well worth it.

I took my five year old for a hike over koppie on the Nature Reserve, and we were both enthralled by the vistas that Mother Nature provided.

From the amazing array of flowers, to the variety of insects and birds, to the beautiful view towards Montagu in the west and Barrydale in the east.

We hike here regularly, as it is conveniently situated near town and the peace and tranquility is perfect for some "father/son" bonding. The walk over the koppie and down the other side is relatively easy (Ouma did the walk about 2 weeks ago!) and the small dams nestled between lush lawns are perfect for a picnic.

For the less energetic, there are myriad paths that crisscross the reserve at various levels.

Entrance fee at present is R5 for adults and R2 for kids, which is paid through a slot in the building at the entrance.

Well worth the visit, especially at this time of the year!

I know that draught conditions prevail in the Western Cape but this was beyond words. There was no living vegetation, just dried trunks. Definitely would recommend skipping until the water conditions change. Even at its best it would only be a small stroll, not a hike

We went to the garden after hearing about it on Tripadvisor.

The gardens are beautifully laid out with a range of indigenous plants, and beautiful dams but it is sorely in need of additional care.

There is an honesty box at the entrance to pay the nominal entrance fee but very little sign of life or staff in the garden. With some care and attention, it has enormous potential to become a real attraction for Montagu.

We attended the Herb Fest over the weekend and decided last minute to attend the Picnic & Concert and definitely worth a visit as the views are truly beautiful in this Hidden Away "Gem"!

Stumbled across these gardens accidentally. Beautifully kept, plenty of flowers and walks, with some great views across Montagu and the valley. The volunteers were friendly and even invited us to a coffee morning

My wife and I found this picturesque haven hidden in a side street in Montagu ( a local Policeman could not give us directions when we asked him). It is a small, natural, tranquil garden with a wide range of indigenous plants plus a delightful stream running through it. The garden is well maintained with a number of gravel paths and wooden benches. With the impressive mountain as a backdrop it is a quite delightful place to enjoy a few peaceful hours.

I am a regular visitor to the Nature Garden (at least once a week) and the peace and tranquility never cease to amaze me. My 4 year old son and I often walk the trail over the koppie, then sit on one of the many benches or on the grass next to one of the ponds to enjoy a picnic. The 360 degree views from the top of the koppie are breathtaking, and you can truly see the beauty of Montagu and surrounds.

The grounds and paths are usually immaculate, so well done to the staff who keep it so clean.

Suitable for nature lovers of all ages, and the entrance fee is a nominal R5 for adults and R2 for kids.

Followed the signs to the garden and found it closed, locked and entrance deserted. The outside area looked rundown and felt unsafe. Perhaps there was another entrance but could not find any signs other than the one I came across. Pics looked great on the website...never got to experience it though.
