In comparison to the big markets to be found closer to Cape Town or in Hermanus, the Montagu Market was full of interesting items and culinary condiments for sale. The stall holders were all welcoming and informative. As stated, it is a small market, but well worth spending fifteen to thirty minutes browsing before continuing a trip.

Wide variety of edibles with a bit of arts and crafts thrown in. Everyone was super friendly. Definate activity on a Saturday if you are in the area

Fabulous little craft market we spent a lovely hour or so wandering around the market. We bought a lovely wine stand off Roy a local craftsman who also makes great garden sprinklers
Well worth a visit

Saturday morning markets are a must-do if you are in Montagu over the weekend. Good variety of breakfast options, however opportunities for gluten free exist there. Jams, pickles and local fresh veg are great. Pecans too. Worth a visit, a friendly place to relax and shop at, nice atmosphere.

The Saturday village market in Montagu brings together a community of bakers, crafters, writers and all interested in spending a leisurely hour trying out the fresh produce, breakfast, roosterkoeke, samoosa’s flat bread, pastries, chocolate brownies and biltong. More than enough for breakfast and you can take some fresh malva poeding home for dessert.

Beautifully grown succulents, fresh olives and olive oils, jams and soaps will ensure you do not go home empty.

After your visit at the market, rent a bicycle across the street or take a walk down the picturesque streets.

A very delightful open air market with very delicious homemade jams and preserves, as well as handmade arts and crafts at very affordable rates.

We drove here from our base at Excelsior Manor guesthouse, and parked behind the church in church street as the parking was full along Bath street.
Walk through the church gardens and you are there.
Very good craft market, some interesting purchases made, a local wood created barrel pen and dog medallion.
Very friendly local people this was breath of fresh air indeed.

We were in Montagu only for an our or two and was so lucky to spot the village market just before everybody started to pack up. There were some interesting stalls, as well as fresh produce, olives, art and a great vibe.

If you like to mingle with the locals go to this market is a little place happening on a a Saturday morning. Met lovely people, lots of local produce and knickknacks. Bought a dog tack for my dog from Gabrielle, a local volunteer for the RSCPA and had lots of fun chatting to her.

Very quiet when we went on that particular Saturday morning, mostly food, not many craft stalls. Not the best market we have been to.
